(1) Academic research on “Compendium of Materia Medica”.
Conducting relevant academic research on the theme of Li Shizhen’s Compendium of Materia Medica is the main direction of the Materia Medica Reading Club. At present, there is a strong enthusiasm for the research of the Compendium of Materia Medica, but most of the research is biased towards traditional literature and experimental research, and there has been no systematic research from the perspective of naturalism and world pharmacology. The Institute is committed to developing a new research direction of the Compendium of Materia Medica, and creating a cross-disciplinary and comprehensive academic research institution and exchange and exhibition platform.
(2) Socially and internationally oriented Compendium of Materia Medica education, talent cultivation and cultural promotion
Based on the current situation that the Compendium of Materia Medica is inconsistent with its important status, the Association focuses on the development of the relevant disciplines of the Compendium of Materia Medica, integrates them into the higher education of Chinese medicine, and creates a new teaching model. At the same time, the education of the “Compendium of Materia Medica” will be promoted to the public, and the publicity and promotion of traditional Chinese medicine culture will play a role in promoting. In addition to monographs and traditional paper media, the cultural science popularization and dissemination around the theme of traditional Chinese medicine are carried out in a variety of visual and audio forms, not only in the field of traditional Chinese medicine, but also in the public to enhance the attention of traditional Chinese medicine culture and traditional culture. At the same time, it cooperates with major museums and exhibition halls to hold diversified and colorful theme exhibitions to create a cultural brand plan of North Chinese Medicine.
(3) Exchanges and cooperation at home and abroad
Professor Zhao Zhongzhen has been promoting Chinese medicine culture and academic exchanges with the theme of the Compendium of Materia Medica in different countries and other places for many years, and the Association has become one of the members of the Materia Medica Reading Club in China and the Greater Bay Area, and has maintained a relaxed and close relationship for a long time.
(4) Promotion of traditional Chinese medicine culture
Since its establishment in 2019, the official public account of the Association, “Zhongzhen Shuo Compendium of Materia Medica”, has published more than 300 original articles, with a total of millions of views, and has a huge fixed reading group, with a large number of forwards and a wide range of forwards, which has played a great role in promoting cultural brands and traditional Chinese medicine culture. Among them, the fixed field “Materia Medica Poetry Society”, which widely collects traditional Chinese medicine theme poems of traditional Chinese medicine and cultural celebrities in various fields, enjoys a good reputation, and has been planned to be compiled into a book, which will be officially published as a poetry collection in the future.
